CNN - Hero of The Year, Efren Peñaflorida

(CNN) -- Efren Peñaflorida, who started a "pushcart classroom" in the Philippines to bring education to poor children as an alternative to gang membership, has been named the 2009 CNN Hero of the Year.

"Our planet is filled with heroes, young and old, rich and poor, man, woman of different colors, shapes and sizes. We are one great tapestry," Peñaflorida said upon accepting the honor. "Each person has a hidden hero within, you just have to look inside you and search it in your heart, and be the hero to the next one in need.

FINDING TIME TO TALK TO GOD

As I read about the article of Daxx Bondoc about "Excuse Me God, I Am Still Doing My Thing Here". I felt quite pain in my heart since I am too is guilty of this.

Have you ever said to God, “Can I have a rain check?” Or “I am still busy pursuing my thing here. I will get back to you  later.”

Most of us are guilty of this.We have placed God on the sidelines or on the shelf.

True, most of us focus on our personal aims in life.. focus on material thing, living abundantly with eyeing only on money, thinking it is all we need to have a happy life. But is it all there.. is this how LIFE is all about?

I agree with him that Our vocation is finding our purpose, discovering the role where our God plans has to fulfill. Only   when we realize and live that purpose, that role,can we find true fulfillment and joy.

"A fish is happy when it swims. A bird is happy when it flies. They are happy because they doing what they are created to do". Discerning God’s calling to our lives should be our priority. It is our priority simply because we want to be happy, we want to be fulfilled. To delay is to postpone joy and fulfillment".

A very well said post for us Christian who live by faith and not by sight. But how can we feel and find our purpose in life? We have to have time to talk to God. When we are in His presence everything will be clear and are in the right way.

How To Quit.. Quitting?

I QUIT!..Quitting?

I am finding life hard because of the problem I have cause. I cannot blame anyone because I am the one responsible for it. Sometimes I just want to shrink down into a hole never to come out again. Or just wish I will just evaporate up into the thin air. Worst I sometimes pray I will not wake up anymore.. Life is so hard!

Why I keep on ending in a mess? I have tried my best to make things work out, i have been good, really, I try to be fair with everyone..but why life is hard  for me? It seems I am caught up in a trap and no one .. nobody .. can help me get out of it.. Life is so unfair!

I give my best to be a good wife, but why is he is somebody's arm? after building my whole life evolving only to him. I am a wonderul girlfriend, that's what I think of myself but why does he fall out of love easily. Life is cruel!

I QUIT!

Sound familiar? This precisely is what every people experience and this is what we usually
say to ourselves. Lots of why's?

Life really is full of challenges, but let put what if we look at it in a positive side. Let us change our point of view from the dark side to the lighter part of life. Mistakes are a great teacher. When we make mistake, it means we are learning fast.

Caught up in debt! Will everything can be arranged in a nice settlement, we have the ability to make money follow us. Test everything, lets go out of our comfort zone. The Lord provide us with brain complete with a physical strong body in order for us to use it to learn how to fish! He give us abilities, great mind and creativity.

Heartaches! Ouch! I cannot say it is not hard, or that's okay.. everything will be just fine. No, it's not okay for a moment, yes, but soon it will be. Pain will fade away not easily though  but surely as time goes by it will be forgotten. Put out the bad memories behind. Someday, someway, something good will happen and it replace your heartache into Joy.

Betrayal. It is so hard to accept, if after all what you have done, people you expect to help you in times of trouble turn their backs on you. Or you never expected that the person whom you trust especially if he or she is part of the family, a relatives or a best friend will put you in a situation where your honor or name is at stake. It is quite hard to forgive.

The only thing that does not change is CHANGE. So how about saying this things to ourselves in order
for us to face life's trials and challenges lightly.

I QUIT ... looking at problems and focuses on great things that I can do and opportunities that comes my way!
 

I QUIT ... blaming others for all my misfortunes but will be more extra nice since everyone of us faces different challenges.
 

I QUIT ... putting limitation for myself, I know I can do great and extraordinary things.
 

I QUIT ... thinking of negatives things and will attract more positive thoughts!

I QUIT .. Quitting, because quitters never wins, and those who never quits wins.. big big win!
 

I AM .. a wonderful person, all the good things in life I attract. I affirm that God's plan for me, big dreams and
success is on my way!

That Is Why I love smiling !!!

Did you know that it only takes around 12 muscles we used for smiling? That is according to Dr. David Song,  a plastic surgeon and associate professor at the University of Chicago Hospitals.

So how about if we frown...It takes 43 muscles to frown.. ahh, now it made sense..

that is why unhappy people or those who gets easily irritated have lots of wrinkles (lol!).

But, seriously, it's true.

Now, would it be much nicer to just smile, aside from it will make your face beautiful, you sorround  yourself with positive vibes.

Well, there are lots of reason to smile, waking up in the morning you saw your beautiful super energetic kids, you saw sunlight that smiles back at you, you got to meet your boyfriend or girlfriend, you can watch your favorite move or read inspiring book, there are lots of reason to smile about but if I continue my examples, I will not be able to finish this writing .. right! hehe..

Ok then, I listed 7 wonderful reason why keeping a smile on your face is such an easy and the best way to start your day.

1. God has a plan for everything, never doubt it - everything is at the hand of our Lord, he will give what we need. Do you believe that God has a purpose why we exist in this world. He will surely protect us and give us wisdom and armor to fulfill that purpose.

2. Trust in his timing - God is the master of time, and his timing is always perfect. So do not worry whatever we ask for as along as it is for our own good, he will surely provide at the right time.

3. Rely on his promises - Our God's promises is the same before, today and til forever. If we read the bible all the promises He had with our ancestors he did fulfill.

4. Wait for his answers - There are 3 ways how God answer our prayer, First, He says No- because it's not what you need and providing it will do you no good. Second, He answers Yes,because it is what you need and your request is will do best for you. Lastly, He says WAIT, to test our faith and He has prepared better and wonderful gift for you!

5. Believe in his miracles - All the impossible are so easy and POSSIBLE with our competent and able God.

6. Rejoice in His Goodness - All good things are provided by our God, the very air we breath comes from God, the many wonderful places and many dependable friends are all His gifts for us!

7. Relax in His Presence - With All Knowing God, we can relax, He knows what's best for us.

Life is full of challenges and it really up to us how we handle it, and the best way is to keep our faith, continue working on pursuing your desires in life. It will end up what we wanted it to be. Believe in God and believe yourself.

WHO IS YOUR PRESIDENT? Philippines Election Day

4 More days to go, mark your calendar guys May 10, 2010.. soon will have a new President to lead our country, new line of "public servants". Were gonna have the first time ever fully automated election day. It is so wonderful to be part of the history, I was there alive.. casting my automated ballot for the first time. (Let's pray this will work accurately!) After casting of the ballots and at last the proclamation of new leader .. the testing time is here. Will these people fulfill what they have promised during their campaign, will it materialize or just the same a new set of corrupt and selfish people who uses power to gain wealth and self-gratification.

We should continuously pray that they will serve the Filipino people well. Uplift our morale and be able to stand infront of all other countries that we are proud to be Filipino.

Now, since the power is now in our hand, cast your vote intelligently. They will serve us for 6 years. This is short time if we successfully chose a true leader but, sad to say, this will be a burdern, a very long time if we put into power a corrupt man.

Who is your President?

My President is a person with a heart who is compassionate to the poor, a man that fulfill his word,a friend who value friendship, a leader who has authority and had set of plans to lead the people to prosperity and a path of honesty. A fighter of wrongs and a lover of peace.

I pray to the Lord that He grant us wisdom to be able to choose a leader who will ring Philippines become a successful, free country.

Removing Fear from you Heart

Opposite of Love is Fear and not hate. If you entertain fear in your heart you will limit the full potential of what you can do.

Fear is a sign of lack of faith and cowardness. It is a doom way of living your life.

Here are ways to remove fear from your heart,

Believe that God is more than enough and powerful that we could ever imagine. He can impossible things you can't comprehend.

If you've been into business and things seems hard to push up, just like what I am experiencing right now, believe of God's presence. Think always of success. God will not leave you so take courage.

Continue to do hard work, go forward, many successful man experienced hundreds of failures, rejections and frustrations but eventually they made it through. They have known the true value of success.

Walk extra mile, continue learning, join with people who have a positive point view of life. Persons who welcome challenges and had strong will to overcome it.

We must remember that God gave us the following to equip us in meeting challenges in life and turn fear into love.

1 He remove our fear - the Lord overtook our sins in order for us to enjoy the full benefit of everlasting life, all you need to do is accept Jesus into you life and let Him take charge!

2. He give us peace - everything is set upon us all we have to do is to ask or request it from Him. Financial blessing, health, love and abundance is at our tip of of our tongue, ready to spill out for our Lord to grant.

3. He give us joy and happiness - contentment is with the Lord. When we remove fear into our heart, love , happiness and joy will flow easily into our whole being.

4. God gave us empowerment to be able to do his will - the Lord leave us his Words through the Bible, it has all the answer to our questions and teachings that able us do beyond our potentials.

Are your experiencing fear and doubt right now due to problems and challenges you are facing? Love, sickness, financial problem? I do too, I have my worries as well, all people experienced it but there is a way, believe it will end up soon. In God's perfect timing all will turn out that it is for our own good, problems teaches us a lesson. It made us wiser and mature.

Fear not, when all things are shut down for you. Maybe it's about time to look up!... God is watching, He is willing and able to help you.
