BROTHER MIKE VELARDE, A SERVANT LEADER

When you hear the community group EL SHADDAI-DWXI-PPFI, we easily pinpoint it to their servant leader BROTHER MIKE VELARDE. How did he turn to God, what is the turning point?

From a fisher of dollar to a fisher of man for Christ Jesus. During one of his inspirational message it happened sometime in February 1978 when he was confined at the Philippine Heart Center for Asia Hospital due to heart enlargement and heart blocks. None of his doctor could guarantee that he would survive the operation. It was then, a miracle came to him, a nurse, whom he believe is an angel came to him and read to him a bible passage that says:

Bible on 1 Corinthians 10:13 "No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it."

After reading the passage repeatedly, Brother Mike eventually gain strength and the operation came out successfully. And that's the beginning of the very large and successful christian community that spread the word of the Lord around the world. He gives hope to the weary and deliver to them the promises of the Lord. Many lives has changed. A true servant leader he is to his flock.

Miracle happened in different ways, it is up to you how you view it when impossible thing become possible. I am a proud member of EL SHADDAI community, I am a choir of one of our chapters. I am so bless with many things in life, I have a renewed spirit and I receive JOY, gladness and power to overcome difficulties and problem in life. I had experienced the true meaning of worshiping the Lord in truth and in the Spirit. God is so good, He uses people to help others to have HOPE and with hope comes FAITH, and faith comes JOY.

WHAT DRIVES YOU TO REACH FOR YOUR DREAM?

You have to FIND YOUR EMOTIONAL WHY. I kept this question on my mind and this triggers me more to strive harder and go far beyond what I can do in order to meet my aspirations in life. Before I go on telling my story, let me ask you first the following question. This will determine how strong is your emotional why, this may even make you realize to go forward in reaching for that life you wanted to have.

1. Do you want to have a life free from debt and able you to buy things you need and want?

2. How about traveling anytime you want with my family and whoever I want to be? How about spending lots of wonderful time with my kids.

3. Give your parents their dream house and able to give them worry free financial life and just let them enjoy being a grandma & grandpa to their grand children.

3. Sleeping and getting up anytime of the day without someone to get mad at you because you are late for work??

4. Do you feel the compassion to share something big for the less fortunate without worrying about cutting a portion of your budget for your family?

5. How about the feeling of being a millionaire, able to share and give?

Actually there are lots of question that you can ask yourself, that will make your inner drive to
flame and get your feet to moving. Finding or outsourcing any means of money making machines to make this dream come true. Well, questions above is my emotional why. That is what i want to live my life.

I want to become financially stable in order to help myself and my family leave a much comfortable life. I want to use 'cash' whenever I purchase expensive thing like house, new car or just anything extravagant (hey, I am dreaming right now ok, trying to picture out how wonderful that feeling would be). But kidding aside, these are my ways in order for me to keep on going as I reach for that goal. It made me focused all the time. Just thinking of the outcome if I succeed brings me shiver and excitement. A life with much fulfillment that would be.

How about you what is your biggest emotional why? Turn this as your steps in making your dream come true.

MOM'S LIFE BEGIN HERE

WATCHING MY CHILDREN GROW INSPIRE ME A LOT AND GIVE ME JOY.

It was one rainy day, my kids and I just stay inside our room and since they cannot play outside due to heavy rains, I just let them play around while I was reading an inspirational book. Kids especially toddlers as all we know are really very active in nature they sometimes fight over one toy. My kids love building blocks, I just don't know why despite the fact that they have more than a hundred pieces of building blocks, still they fight over 1 small block!

My little son, Justin, was the one shouting out loud..mine! mine! while her sister, Jazmine, was doing her best to let go of Justin's grip of the toy. While they are struggling in order to win over the other, there goes sudden thunder! It was so loud, they both got startled, eventually release the poor toy, living it all alone by itself, my son immediately embrace her "Ate" (Ate in the Philippines, means elder sister). He was afraid, I can see that is his very round black eyes. In response, my daughter hug his baby brother back and she said, " don't worry Justin, ate is here, come lets go to mama". And she carried his brother to me. I warmly embrace them both and since it was nap time already, I put them to sleep. I love watching them sleep, they are so innocent, trusting and so peaceful.

As i reflect over their behavior awhile ago, I suddenly realize that such instances also happen between me and my kids though in different scenario of course. I was like that of Jazmine's behavior, struggling to keep her temper burst out as she finds a way to remove Justin's hand away from the toy. That was mama when these two little kids are not behaving well, I was trying to compose myself not to get angry or else they will get in trouble really. Disciplining children is quite hard really, I try as much as possible not to spank or shout at them because I still believe that talking to them is much appropriate way of discipline. So I have to take a deep breath to keep calm.

And after the thunder incident, I saw myself from the way Jazmine's act as Protector of his brother. That was me when they are sick, I provide them with my best care so that they get well soon. When they are hungry, I fed them with nutritious food and vitamins to make them more strong and healthy. When they are afraid to sleep at night because we usually turn off the lights, I am there to tell them stories until they feel asleep. I bought them hypo-allergenic soap so that they will not get skin irritation. I make sure their shampoo has a "no more tears" formula so that it will not hurt their eyes when they take a bath. In short. I protect, nurture and love them. As their mother I am ready to give my life for them. That is mama, that is me.

6 years had past since I embrace the responsibility of being a mother and a wife. I can say that it was the most fulfilling chapter of my life. Seeing and watching my kids grow is my achievement of being a mom. I have kept in my heart all the experiences and moment I had with them. From nurturing them in my womb for 9 months, their normal delivery into this world (gosh it was so painful, I thought I would die!) but when I heard them cry, I feel so much joy, pain is forgotten. My children is my life and inspiration. I know I still have a long way to go as they grow more, I am prepared and I will be there for them no matter what.

HOW WE VIEW A JOYFUL LIFE?

JOY can be define in many words - delight, happiness, pleasure, enjoyment, bliss, ecstasy or even thrill.
We can experience Joyful living only if we view JOY as the definition I mentioned Above.

Joy is delight, it always brings amusement and glee in every little things we do for our friends, children and love one.

Happiness is Joy. It involves contentment in things we have, a gladness in things we do and bring cheerful environment to those people sorrounding us.

There is pleasure when we live joyfully. There is always an enjoyment in everything we do and we easily get satisfaction from it. We are easily pleased when a person did something nice to us. Most of the time fulfillment comes in a swift.

Life living with gladness is a bliss. You view yourself living in paradise, you love people around you, you love what you are doing. Heaven is right here now on earth, everything are in harmony.

You feel ecstasy! When you are happy, you feel that you're in seventh heaven, there is a rapture of passion exploding the inner wholeness of you. Eagerness in exploring new challenges are always up and you feel excited about it.

When you feel joy, you also feel the thrill. Adventure clings on you and you delight in every outcome this endeavor brings.

Having a right attitude and embracing positivity in life brings us a whole person. It is always better to provide joy to everyone that you the one being inspired
and given an advise right?

I would gladly know your views about life and share it with me and our friends out there. Share your opinion and inspire others. Just live your comment and message below and I will give you my feedback right away.

Live a cheerful Life!

A WAKE UP CALL , INSPIRING MESSAGE

An inspiring message that brought me tears and make me realize that life is beautiful, sadly it is also short.

This message I was able to save was during the 911 attack in the U.S. last September 11, 2001 wherein thousand of lives was lost. Truly the message serves as an eye opener that we have to be prepared in anything, anytime, anywhere we may be. It is very important that we have to be prepared spiritually too.

SUMMARY:

Tragedy strikes. At the same time, it gives us all the opportunity to examine who we are and where we are in our lives. Abrupt change, rather than gradual change, tends to shake us out of the slumber of our daily semi-conscious lives. Such change offers us the opportunity to change our world and ourselves for the better.

SPEECH TEXT:

This week has been…different.

What we assumed would remain the same Monday night abruptly and permanently changed in 2 very short hours Tuesday morning.

Abrupt and permanent changes that leave gaping holes in our lives.

Abrupt and permanent changes that leave us asking on behalf of those so very innocent, Why?

Abrupt and permanent changes that leave us wondering, What can we do? Besides grieve, strike out, and retaliate?

Change is often painful. Yet change is part of life. Such abrupt change shakes us out of the slumber of our daily semi-conscious lives. And such change does offer us the opportunity to change our world and ourselves for the better.

I mentioned change is part of life. In fact, life is the process of change.

Everything is in the process of becoming something else. A tree releases a seed that grows into a seedling and then into a tree that eventually offers new seeds. The seed does not remain the same. It changes and grows and becomes something else.

We can ask ourselves, Who are we becoming?

And if life is the process of change, that change can be gradual or abrupt.

Change can be gradual: The seed sends out roots and a stem and leaves sprout from the stem. This change unfolds gently over time.

Change can be abrupt: The field in which the tree and the seed live catches fire and burns, changing the field forever.

We cannot always control which it will be, gradual or abrupt. Clearly, abrupt change is painful. It forces us to re-examine who we are.

Whatever the type of change, we are left with new possibilities.

We can ask ourselves, Are we changing gradually with purpose? Or must we have abrupt change wake us up?

If we are to change gradually with purpose, we need to be open to change.

Like our tree’s branches which sway back and forth in the strong wind, we need to be willing to adapt to our new circumstances. Not passively. But with the flexibility and willingness to change ourselves without losing the essence, the spirit, of who we are.

We can ask ourselves: Can we learn to change? The answer depends on who we are.

· Governments can learn.

· Businesses can learn.

· Communities, families, and friends can learn.

· You and I can learn.

There’s something in this for all of us.

People paid for this with their lives. Beneath the horror and the rubble 5 stories deep lies buried a precious gift for all of us.

Let’s not squander this moment. If people have souls that don’t vanish like ephemeral wisps of smoke, then let’s not allow this event to recede into distant memory without improving our world and ourselves.

Let’s consecrate what has been desecrated.

Let’s see every moment as indeed a gift.

Let’s use that rubble and the memories of the departed souls as rich and blessed ground in which to plant new seeds for a better future.

Because all we have in life is change.

It’s time to wake up.

P.S. -- Pass this message to your friend and love one. Life is a beautiful gift from God. Live life to the fullest and enjoy every moment of it with your love one and friends.

8 COMMANDMENT FOR SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE

Being successful means you are able to do what you please without anyone compelling you to do it. It means a balance in all aspect of life, spiritually, mentally and financially. Material thing is nothing without a loving family to share it with.

A friend gave me an article from a booklet, however since the booklet is so old we cannot find who wrote it and I will not be able to thank the author for sharing this wonderful list of eight commandment for successful people.

1. Make time to think - it is the source of power
2. Make time to play - it is the key to freedom and relaxation
3. Make time to read - it is the gateway to knowledge
4. Make time to WORSHIP - it washes the dust of earth from your eyes.
5. Make time to help - no other happiness match this
6. Make time to live - if you don't it will fade away
7. Make time to laugh and pray - these two things that lighten life's load
8. Make time to be close with God - He is the source of everything.

Have a blessed life!

MY FOUND TREASURE

Time has passed and things have changed
Bright cloud’s beauty spread above
Tearful eyes begin to smile, longing heart
Begin to love,
Once you’ve found an old, old poem
You’ve read each line of sorrowed soul
Now I’m here blessed and strong
Love by you and love by all.
I made a vow for him to know
Wherever he is my heart there’s too,
But now that’s past and God’s put new
New beginning, new love
He had prepared for me to have.
My heart’s with you that I know,
I cannot breath now if that’s not true
You’ve changed my life and bring me back
To this cruel world, cruel life
You are my life, my soul my breath
With you and God alone, surely I can leave.
You are my found treasure here on earth,
The heavenly blessing that the Lord gives
I love you more each day I live and
Promise you this love will live
Until the Lord’s call me in His grace.

I wrote this poem last October 12, 2002

If you have a hobby of making a poem, feel free to share it with us, go on make you feelings show through your poem. Send it here by writing on comments link below. God bless you.

Unmoved, Unchanged, Undefeated, and never Undone!
He was bruised and brought healing!
He was pierced and eased pain!

He was dead and brought life!

He is risen and brings power!
He reigns and brings Peace!
The world can't understand him,

The Pharisees couldn't confuse Him, and
The people couldn't hold Him!

the wisdom of the wise,

the Power of the powerful, the Ancient of days,
the Ruler of rulers, the Leader of leaders,
the Overseer of the overcomers, and
the Sovereign Lord of all that was and is and is to come.

And if that seems impressive to you, try this for size:

and never cancel my appointment in His appointment book!
When I fall, He lifts me up!
When I fail, He forgives!
When I am weak, He is strong!
When I am lost, He is the way!

When I am broken, He mends me!
When I am blind, He leads me!
When I am hungry, He feeds me!
When I face trials, He is with me!

When I face persecution, He shields me!
When I face problems, He comforts me!
When I face loss, He provides for me!
When I face Death, He carries me Home!

He is everything for everybody, everywhere, every time, and every way.

LIVE SIMPLY, LOVE GENEROUSLY, CARE DEEPLY, SPEAK KINDLY, PRAY DAILY, LEAVE THE REST WITH GOD.

FORGIVENESS HEALS SOUL

"The best thing to give to your enemy is forgiveness; to an opponent, tolerance; to a friend, your heart; to your child, a good example; to a father, deference; to your mother, conduct that will make her proud of you; to yourself, respect; to all men, charity." - Francis Maitland Balfour

"An effort made for the happiness of others lifts us above ourselves." - Lydia M. Child

Have you been hurt by someone whom you trusted so much with your life? All along you have centered your life with him, you think you cannot breath with him nor live without him. Then all of a sudden his gone, never to return again. How about a best friend's betrayal? You will ask your self what did i do wrong, you pity yourself and feel that you are not worthy to anyone's love because they leave you, you despise the person who hurt you, next time you knew, your heart turn into a stone. Seems it cannot feel the pain anymore, it is now full of hatred, revenge and distrust to anyone. The next big problem is FORGIVENESS will be out of sight anymore.

Saying you forgive someone for all the bad thing and misery he cause your life seems hard enough to utter, what more doing it. But we have to realize that in order for us to move on and go on with living our life to the fullest is to FORGIVE. It will heal our yearning spirit who thirst for love and only through FORGIVENESS we are able to once again experience the flow of love, it will release the anger and be replaced by peace, calm and understanding heart.

Most of us go through life's turmoil, be it about loss of love one, loss of trust or even death. It is part of our travel as we go through life. We will encounter many challenges and all the experiences we had before be it good or bad, will serve as lesson learned and will help us best to cope up with more new experiences - making us develop our personality and feel the essence of being whole.
